According to the International Cruise Association’s latest 2024 Cruise Industry Status Report, global cruise passenger numbers reached 31.7 million in 2023, an increase of 6.8% compared to 2019. The cruise market has now recovered and even surpassed its pre-pandemic period, with this figure expected to reach 39.5 million by 2027.
Thanks to the support of the Chinese government, the cruise market is expected to enter rapid development in 2024, with the domestically built large cruise ship starting operation in early 2024 and further favourable visa and group travel policies, the Chinese cruise market is expected to enjoy better prospects and enter a new era of bright development.
